May assist in maintaining joint health & function. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint condition. It occurs when the cartilage on the ends of the joints wears down allowing the exposed bones to rub together. This degenerative process causes friction in the joints, which leads to loss of motion, stiffness and joint pain. Symptoms can range from mild to very severe.

Chondroitin Sulphate is a major structural component of the cartilage, part of a protein molecule that helps give cartilage its elastic properties and is thought to have an anti-inflammatory effect helping reduce painful joint swelling.

Chondroitin can help stimulate the production of new healthy cartilage, block enzymes that break down cartilage, and normalise joint fluids to reduce friction. Is the molecular weight of Chondroitin Sulphate really important? Absolutely. Low grade Chondroitin (often just powdered cartilage) generally has a high molecular weight and is not as bioavailable through intestinal absorption. Shark Net delivers 4,000 mg pharmaceutical grade bioavailable Chondroitin per treating dose.

Glucosamine Sulphate is produced naturally in the horses body and is involved in the formation of collagen & synovial fluid. High work & stress levels can result in insufficient natural glucosamine to cope with the necessary cartilage repair process. The small molecular size of Glucosamine makes oral supplementation very effective.

Glucosamine Sulphate or Glucosamine HCL, which is best? Studies suggest Glucosamine Sulphate is more readily absorbed but it is the quality that counts, not the source. What is most important is the actual amount of Glucosamine delivered in a dose. Shark Net delivers 10,000 mg pharmaceutical grade bioavailable Glucosamine Sulphate per treating dose.

Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane (MSM) is an organic compound derived from DMSO (topical anti-inflammatory). It is an excellent bio-available source of Sulphur, an element that is a vital component of collage, important in the formation of connective tissue and is credited with enhancing blood circulation and reducing inflammation and epiphysitis.

MSM is highly respected in the equine world as a great pain reliever and arthritis supplement and for its many other ailment uses.

Shark Net delivers 16,000 mg of MSM per treating dose.

The other essential ingredients of any good joint care formula are Manganese, a required cofactor for enzymes involved in cartilage metabolism, and Ascorbic Acid, a component of hydroxyproline, an amino acid that plays a key role in collagen stability.

Shark Net delivers both at the level required to insure that all essential nutrients for articular cartilage and synovial fluid production are in sufficient concentrations.
